At the end of a bidding period, three groups came forward with proposals to turn Fair Haven’s Strong School into homes.
The city is looking to sell the school at 69 Grand Ave. in order to raise $3 million for next year’s budget. Bidders had until Tuesday to respond to the city’s Request for Proposals (RFP) to buy and redevelop the 1.055-acre site.
Three bidders responded, according to city Purchasing Agent Mike Fumiatti.
One group, Strong School LLC, is a coalition of local business owners headed by local developer Fernando Pastor. Two Bridgeport-based developers, C.G. Developers LLC and First National Development, also responded.
The details of the RFPs were not made public, but Fumiatti said all three proposals call for converting the school into apartments or condos.
