911 Now Back Online

(Updated) The 911 emergency phone line is back up and working — an hour and a half after a partial statewide outage.

At 3:03 p.m., Mayor Justin Elicker sent out an email and text message alert about 911 working again.

All residents can once again call or text 9 – 1‑1 for all life-threatening emergencies,” he wrote. Again, for life-threatening emergencies, you can once again call or text 9 – 1‑1.”

His update message came roughly an hour and a half after Elicker sent out an alert notifying New Haveners that 911 was down, and that people should call Yale’s emergency call center at 203 – 432-4400 in case of a life-threatening emergency.

Thank you to our first responders and state partners for their work to help resolve this statewide issue, and thank you to residents for your patience and cooperation,” Elicker wrote in his second update.

WTNH reported that 911 lines were down on Tuesday in Branford, Danbury, East Lyme, Groton, Hartford, New Haven, Wallingford, Westport and Woodbridge.
