Advisory: Don’t Swim, Fish

Wait a few days to go into the water, because there might be sewage in it.

The state Departments of Public Health and of Energy and Environmental Protection issued that warning Sunday around 6 p.m.

It advised people in Greater New Haven to wait 72 hours before swimming, fishing, or utilizing paddlecraft” in Connecticut’s rivers and streams.” That’s because the continuing rainfall from Tropical Storm Henri has led to discharges of untreated sewage.”
