Amistad High students spent Saturday beautifying Lighthouse Point Park, leaving colorful murals in their wake.
Amistad students have spent many Saturdays working in the park this year, painting six large murals and sprucing up the park in other ways. Amistad’s Amanda Pinto sent in this information and these photos.
Amistad High student Jasmine Vega created the painting above, which is currently displayed in the Parks Department office. The director has asked Jasmine to duplicate the painting across five jersey barriers in the park. That project is underway.
Student Yadiel Rodriguez re-paints the entrance to a bathroom at the park.
Selena Williams and Selina Stephenson, both students at AF Amistad High, paint artwork on planters in the park.
