The man pictured is Erik Johnson. He heads New Haven government’s neighborhoods anti-blight, development, and code-enforcement agency, the Livable City Initiative (LCI). Or at least, he has been heading it; Friday is his last day in the job. After negotiating a raise and an increase in responsibilities this past June, he ended up taking a new job across the country and leaving New Haven after all. (Read about that here.)
Mayor Toni Harp said she hopes to find a replacement in town. A job description has gone up at the 200 Orange St. office building. Among the requirements: a four-year undergarduate degree “in the field of finance, public administration or urban planning” and “at least 5 years managerial experience, preferably in housing, community development or real estate.
