A two-alarm blaze displaced eight adults from a three-family house on Blake Street Saturday afternoon.
No one was injured because of the fire.
Fire Chief John Alston told the Independent that the fire took place at 83 Blake St.
The department received a call at 5:29 p.m. from “a neighbor reporting flames out of a window and people screaming from inside,” he said.
The first responding firefighter company arrived at 5:32 p.m., he said. The department had the fire under control by 6:23 p.m.
He said that eight adults were displaced, and that the Red Cross will be assisting them to find emergency replacement shelter.
Alston said the second and third floors of the building suffered “heavy fire damage.”
“It’s pretty bad,” he said.
