The FBI is investigating a bomb threat made to the home of state Attorney General William Tong.
Tong has been the state government’s frontline responder to actions taken by the Trump administration since it took office Jan. 20, taking the lead along with other state attorneys general on lawsuits about issues ranging from birthright citizenship to transgender rights to a freeze on federal funding. (Click here to read or watch an interview with him on those subjects.)
“I want to thank the state and local police and first responders for their professionalism and hard work today in responding to this threat. I am grateful that my family is safe,” Tong is quoted as saying in a statement released by his office.
“I am going to continue to do my job fighting for and protecting Connecticut families.”
Tong’s office referred questions about the incident — when it took place, in what form — to the Stamford police, who in turn said they would not answer any questions because the FBI is investigating the case.
