Mayoral candidate Justin Elicker picked up his first labor endorsement Tuesday, from the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, Local 1.
“We have the utmost confidence in Justin’s tireless efforts to represent the working people of New Haven,” said local President Gerald Marotti is quoted as saying in a campaign release. The release quotes Elicker vowing to give “all our unions a seat at the table with developers” and to support job training programs.
Elicker is seeking to unseat incumbent Mayor Toni Harp in a Sept. 10 Democratic Party primary. Harp has won endorsements from UNITE HERE Local 34, the Central Labor Council, UNITE HERE Local 34, District 1199 SEIU, 32BJ SEIU, and the New England Regional Council Carpenters, Local 326.
