“Look at that,” the narrator says as a man on screen pops in to a car parked at the Citgo gas station on Whalley Avenue.
The narrator is top Westville/ West Hills/ West Rock/ Beverly Hills cop Lt. Elliot Rosa. His voice appears off security footage of a recent car theft at the Citgo.
The clip begins at the 1:25 mark of Rosa’s latest weekly video update on crime in the district. You can click on it above.
Rosa notes that a customer left the car running while popping inside to the Citgo convenience store.
“You leave your vehicle running for a matter of seconds and — boom — it’s gone!”
Among the other crimes noted in the video: Someone stole 1,500 surgical masks and 500 homemade masks from a car parked on West Rock Avenue. The cops found no signs of forced entry, leading them to believe the car had been left unlocked.
Not a good idea.
