The fire department won the New Haven “chief’s cup” back from the police in an annual charity hockey game at Ingalls Rink Saturday. The final score was 6 – 3; last year the cops prevailed. Firefighter Jaimie Polite greets Chief Michael Grant. Polite was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; he was one of two beneficiaries of the proceeds from the game. The other beneficiary was the family of late police Officer David Knickerbocker, who died from leukemia in December.
