Attention hair-clippers, wait people, and chefs: The mayor wants you to get tested for Covid-19. Even if your nose isn’t running, your temperature is normal and you can still taste your food.
Mayor Justin Elicker issued that call Wednesday during his administration’s daily press briefing via Zoom.
He said that with Phase 1 of the pandemic business reopening slated for next week, officials want to broaden testing from symptomatic people to everyone else. Especially those who will come into contact with other people.
“We want hairdressers, barbers, restaurant employees, grocery store employees, individuals that have close contact with the public to get tested,” Elicker said.
You can sign up here or call the health department at 203 – 946-4949 to make an appointment to get tested at the outdoor site at Chapel and Day streets (except on Thursday, when it will be closed.)
