A 36-year-old man lost his life in the latest crash on New Haven’s “Death Boulevard.”
The killed man, Ruben Rocael Mejia Gonzalez, was driving his Toytoa RAV4 northbound on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard Friday night when it crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer stopped in the left-turn lane of the Columbus Avenue intersection, according to police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell.
The crash ejected Gonzalez from the car. Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. The police are investigating the crash. Dell asked anyone with information to call them at 203 – 946-6304 or at the anonymous tip-line, 866 – 888-TIPS (8477).
