A 29-year-old Milford motorcyclist is on life support at Yale-New Haven Hospital after crashing on Long Wharf early Tuesday.
The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. near the Vietnam Memorial, on Sargent Drive. It did not involve other vehicles.
Steven Mollica was thrown from his motorcycle after failing to negotiate a turn in the roadway. His bike struck the curb,” police spokesman Officer David Hartman reported in a press release. “It is uncertain at this point in the investigation whether other factors such as speed could have contributed to the crash. Mr. Mollica was taken by ambulance to Yale – New Haven Hospital where he remains on life-support and in critical condition. He’d suffered numerous injuries to his head and body.
“No helmet was recovered from the scene.”
