Two pedestrians went to the hospital, one with a life-threatening injury, after a driver ran into them in Hamden.
The two collisions took place Tuesday around 6 p.m., according to Hamden police spokesperson Capt. Ronald Smith.
A 28-year-old Hamden man was driving westbound on Putnam Avenue when his vehicle struck a 59-year-old Hamden man trying to cross the street, according to Smith.
The driver kept driving, and struck a 70-year-old Hamden woman who was standing in the street, Smith reported in a release. The driver remained at the scene.
The 59-year-old man “suffered a life-threatening head injury,” and the 70-year-old woman, a leg injury, according to Smith. The police department’s Traffic Division in investigating the incident; anyone with information is asked to call Officer Nicholas Lovett at (203) 281‑8218.
