As an off-duty firefighter happened to be looking on, a 37-year-old motorist driving north on Foxon Boulevard crashed into a 26-year-old Milford woman named Meghan Perry at 10 p.m. Wednesday as she crossed the street.
“The impact was severe, launching the pedestrian into the air and off the car,” reported police spokesman Officer David Hartman. The firefighter tended to the victim, as the motorist stayed on the scene and cops arrived.
The woman was treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was originally listed in critical condition, then “upgraded to serious/stable,” according to Hartman. “She is expected to recover.” Cops expect to charge the driver once crash investigators complete their look into the incident.
