Local climate change activists, with the help of a few Covid-resistant alien invaders, have published a new video and Earth Day Festival schedule encouraging New Haveners to celebrate the environmental holiday from later this month through yard decorating, sign making, online activities, and advocacy.
The video was released Thursday morning by the New Haven Climate Movement.
“We are here on this beautiful day with our visiting Martian friends — who are COVID-19 resistant — to invite everyone in the New Haven area to celebrate Earth Day on April 21st and 22nd,” says Wilbur Cross student Lina Homann in the video.
“This year is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, and even with this crisis, we need to step up to address our other public health disaster — climate change.”
The video calls on Earth Day celebrants to make yard signs, do sidewalk chalking, decorate trees, participate in live streamed online rallies, and sit in on guided nature meditations.
