Elicker Running For Reelection

New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker is running for a fourth two-year term.

He revealed his plans in an interview with WTNH. (Read more here.) He emphasized his work in creating affordable housing.

Elicker first won election in 2019. This coming election, which takes place next November, will be the last mayoral race for a two-year term. Thanks to a charter change, mayoral terms will extend to four years starting in 2027.

Shafiq Abdussabur, who had mounted a challenge to Elicker in 2023, said he will not run again for mayor this year.
