A New Haven man who fled federal custody is now heading back to prison for 15 months.
The man, who’s 27, of New Haven, had been serving 77 months in prison due to his 2008 conviction in federal court for possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, according to Tom Carson, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office.
On June 17, 2013, the prisoner “escaped from custody in the Watkinson House Residential Reentry Center in Hartford,” Carson wrote. On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Ellen Bree Burns in New Haven sentenced him to an extra 15 months in prison, on top of his 77-month sentence.

Operation Bloodline
Burn sentenced 28-year-old New Havener Pierre Galan, who goes by the nickname of “P.L.O.,” to five years in prison, plus four years of supervised release, for trafficking heroin.
The case stemmed from 2012’s Operation Bloodline, the largest federal criminal sweep in state history. The initiative rounded up 105 people. At least 90 of them have pleaded guilty. A few have been found guilty by trial. Charges were dropped against a few others.
Galan, who had one prior felony firearms conviction, pleaded guilty in December to “one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 100 grams or more of heroin,” according to Carson.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys S. Dave Vatti and Marc Silverman.
