(Welcome back.)

There are many doors in a city like ours, some of them leading to surprising places. We are unlikely to be invited behind as many of them as we might wish.

But there are other ways, as in this anthology of video works that is the fifth piece in EyeShow,” an Independent series of commissioned works by local artists to create an ongoing virtual gallery.”

Alice’s Wonderland was not without its dangers, but her character is a reminder that a lively sense of curiosity is always the best protection in such cases. It is that sense that the artist invites us to here in her description of this piece:

The portal site is a project that began with a drawing of a local New Haven house on Sherman Avenue, where many artists have lived in the past. The site reflects a desire to create a context for my video works, one which involves locations both inside and outside the artist’s studio. My aspiration is to create a ongoing handmade web experience that leads viewers through non-linear narratives.
