You can now order your Marco Polo pizza, your Temple Grill burger, and even your Owl Shop cigar with a side of free parking.
Those downtown restaurants are three of 16 that now offer free, validated parking to customers.
Customers can park at the Temple or Crown Street parking garages for free every day between 4 and 10 p.m. Diners just need to ask their waiter for a validation card.
The program is a partnership between the city and Park New Haven, which has over maintains garages and surface lots downtown. It’s the first of its kind in the state, according to a press release.
Park New Haven is launching a publicity campaign — including billboards and radio ads — to spread word of the new program.
The program cost is shared half-and-half between Park New Haven and each participating restaurant. Restaurants pay $4 per customer who parks in the two garages.
The 16 participating restaurants are: Briq, Buffalo Wild Wings, Kelly’s Gastropub, Kudeta, L’Orcio, Marco Polo, Ordinary, The Owl Shop, Pacifico, Palmeira, Roia, Temple Grill, Yorkside Pizza, and Zinc.
