The largest holiday-season meal for the needy took place again at Gateway Community College.

Some 600 needy adults and children were served a full buffet dinner between 5 and 9 p.m. Friday at the Long Wharf campus’s 11th annual holiday dinner for the disadvantaged,” according to a Gateway press release. Last year the event served 400.

Santa and Ms. Claus showed up too. The kids got presents and painted faces, if they wanted. Adults got bags of personal care items.” And the school gave everyone winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves.
