A beach bash brought together dance, rap, song — and dozens of grandparents and relatives who are raising young kids.
The event, on a recent afternoon at Lighthouse Point Park, was the second annual cookout by the group Grandparents and Relatives Raising the Future: Click here for a past story on the group.
The carousel house came to life with dance lessons by Zumba dance instructor Dominique La Rose-Wright (at left in photo with Mayor John DeStefano and Jackie Harris, who heads the grandparents’ group). One Up Productions provided kid-friendly hiphop. The newly renovated horses provided carousel rides.
Also attending were several aldermen, Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. La Rose-Wright sent in these photos.
