The cops swarmed Monterey Place this week — to hand out toys.
The cops were members of the New Haven Guardians African-American police fraternal organization. They distributed toys to more than 300 people. They also distributed clothing and food. Santa popped by, too, courtesy of Oriental Lodge #6.
Also supporting the event were the Sigma fraternity, New Haven Yes Program, New Haven Pediatrics, Howard K. Hill Funeral Home, the Elks, Monterey Place, and the Dease family.
