You don’t have to wait until Halloween to trick-or-treat! Everyone is welcome to come to celebrate Halloween at the Dixwell “Q House” Community Center this Friday, Oct. 27.
The New Haven education nonprofit Leadership, Education and Athletics in Partnership (LEAP) will host its annual Halloween Festival on Friday, Oct. 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Q House located at 197 Dixwell Ave.
This festive event is free and open to all members of the community.
For several years now, LEAP has been organizing a Halloween Festival with the aim of providing a safe environment for children to go trick-or-treating and for families to come together and celebrate the holiday.
This year, LEAP’s Halloween Festival will include activities such as pumpkin crafting, a gaming truck, an escape room, line dancing, and a book giveaway. In addition, there will be live performances by Latino America Unida, Sigma Gamma Rho, LEAP’s Leaders in Training (LITs), and a child-friendly interactive drum session by Gammy. Of course, there will also be a lot of candy, with a safe trick-or-treating route set up for children.
You can support the celebration by contributing candy for the festival. Donations can be dropped off at the Dixwell Q House Community Center or the LEAP office located at 31 Jefferson St. near Wooster Square.
