A group hoping to land a grant for fruit trees in Edgewood Park is asking neighbors to vote online to help out.
Here’s how: go to the Communities Take Root website, register, then select “Connecticut” and look for “Friends of Edgewood Park.” You can vote once a day until May 31, when the first of four rounds of voting closes.
As of Monday, the project had 1,588 votes. According to Jessica Feinleib, one of the organizers of the effort, there are 120 projects competing for 20 grants. The money pays for 44 fruit trees, and the city has offered to match that by planting trees in other parks, according to Feinleib.
