The sun Shone brightly on this Sunday morning, Oct. 2, as the community gathered at the Greater New Haven Holocaust Memorial for our annual Kever Avot Memorial service.

The service traditionally observed between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur includes a short program of remembrance as well as traditional prayers.

The memorial service was followed by a short program to welcome the new explanatory plaque at the memorial site. The Mayor of New Haven joined with survivors and supporters to dedicate this new plaque. Through historic pictures and captions the plaque tells the story of the Holocaust at this first in the US, Memorial erected on public land by survivors and their neighbors.
