As he was moving from Rhode Island to Connecticut, Ramon E. Peralta, Jr. had a tentative but abiding idea: to bring people’s visions for website, branding, multimedia and print design to life — and to make a living out of it himself.
The answer to that was Peralta Design, a company that now works with individuals and small business and well as big brands like the National Football League (NFL).
What started as Peralta working out of his home after a layoff in 2008 is now a multi-state company of several employees run by Peralta and Jorge Pezo-Candelario, lead web developer & interactive designer. Monday morning, the two joined Tom Ficklin in the WNHH-LP studio for his eponymously titled show, sharing the triumphs and pitfalls of starting a company.
“It’s amazing how things are constantly evolving,” shared Pezo-Candelario. “The opportunities are out there; it’s your job to capitalize on it. I love coming into work every day. Every Monday is exciting.”
