Presidential candidate Ben Carson is leaving Joe Ugly with an … ugly feeling.
Carson, the only African-American among the crowded field of Republican presidential candidates, wasn’t getting any love from Joe Ugly’s morning drive-time show on Ugly Radio and on the Independent’s WNHH FM. (Watch the full conversation in the above video.)
To Ugly, Carson is a political “highbrow.”
“Highbrows tend think you can cookie-cutter the world. You can’t cookie cutter the world. Ben Carson honestly believes that because he has succeeded, that everyone else who started out from his situation can succeed. We are not all like that.
“I don’t condone mediocrity. I don’t condone lack of effort. But we’re not all alike. People start off with different baggage that you know nothing about. … You don’t know what psycho, social, economical issues they have in the background. … [Yet you] judge them [for] not pulling themsvles up by the bootstraps … Unlike you they might issues of learning because they digested lead paint as a kid …
“I could never support Ben Carson … ‘I pulled myself up by the bootstraps. I’m a neurosurgeon’ …
“I can’t get my head around that. What’s a black conservative? Help me understand what a black man’s trying to conserve in this country? ‘Get in the back of the bus?’ What are we trying to conserve? All this beautiful treatment? People getting shot? I want to conserve that! ‘I can’t breathe?’ I want to conserve that?! Why don’t I go into a store and get followed? Now I’ve got company shopping!”
