A 44-year-old man crashed an SUV into a Fountain Street apartment building Tuesday evening after someone shot at him.
The incident occurred a little after 5 p.m.
Here’s what happened, according to Assistant Chief Karl Jacobson, who went to the scene:
The 44-year-old got into a dispute with someone on Fountain Street. During the dispute that someone shot at him. The bullet grazed his ear.
The 44-year-old sped away in his SUV, and promptly crashed into the brick apartment building on Fountain Street, across from Mauro-Sheridan Interdistrict Magnet School at the corner of Emerson Street.
Jacobson said the man has a history of weapons and drug-related criminal convictions
“We believe it’s an isolated incident” and does not reflect any danger to the neighborhood or the general public, Jacobson said.
