A knock came at the door, followed by a shout: “Police!”
It wasn’t the cops.
It was two men with guns. They shot a man in the head during a home invasion Thursday, according to police. The man was in stable condition as of Friday morning, according to city spokesman Adam Joseph.
Here’s what he said happened:
At 10:38 p.m. Thursday, police responded to 62 Carmel St. in the Beaver Hills neighborhood on a report of a home invasion. They found a man in front of a nearby house with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The 50-year-old victim was home Thursday night when he heard a knock on the door. When he asked who it was, the people at the door yelled “Police.” The man opened the door and saw two men in mask, armed with handguns. He tried to closed the door, but the men forced their way in.
The men pistol-whipped the 50-year-old and fired a shot, which hit him in the head. He was able to flee the apartment.
People with information on the shooting are asked to call (203) 946‑6304 to speak with a detective.
