Fly Morgan Stanley to Florida?
Don’t expect to see that slogan soon. But it does describe where the money is coming from to support the new daily service from Tweed New Haven to the Sunshine State.
Avelo Airlines has begun offering that daily service. The start-up airline, with hubs on the two U.S. coasts, announced Thursday that it has raised another $30 million from an investment fund managed by the multinational investment bank and financial services company.
The $30 million was part of a $42 million second round of financing for Avelo, raising to $160 million the total amount raised by the airline since its 2020 launch.
Morgan Stanley “is now by far Avelo’s largest shareholder,” the airline reported in a release issued Thursday.
