
Police arrested a 42-year-old driver who allegedly killed a motorcycle rider in a crash Saturday.
The crash occurred at Winthrop and Sylvan Avenues shortly before 5:30 p.m.

It killed a 28-year-old New Havener James “J Blanc” Grant, a member of the Presidents Motorcycle Club.
The arrested man, who’s also from New Haven, was driving a four-door Acura Sedan. Police arrested him on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Shayna Kendall. He was held on $100,000 bond pending a Monday court appearance. The police department’s Accident Reconstruction Team went to the scene to begin an investigation of the crash.
