Motorcyclist Kills Pedestrian

A 66-year-old man died after a motorcyclist struck him.

The crash occurred in the West River neighborhood this past Friday around 7:48 p.m., according to a press release issued Tuesday by New Haven police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway.

The man was trying to cross the road at Norton and Stanley Streets when the motorcycle hit him. He was later pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital The motorcycle driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Police Crash Team is investigating the incident, and no charges have as yet been filed, Shumway reported.
