Carleton Granberry Associates, Crown Street Parking Garage, 1971
between Temple and College
Not quite the Pantheon, or the Guggenheim spiral, but still a remarkable opening into space hidden alongside the Temple Street Plaza. One has to stand in the dirt for a view through this observatory, evoking an insight from Oscar Wilde that “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
