A 3‑year-old watched as police raided an apartment on Chapel Street and, they say, busted an “open-air” drug-dealing operation.
The raid took place Saturday afternoon around 4:25 in the 1300 block of Chapel Street in the Dwight/Kensington neighborhood following an investigation by the police department’s Police Tactical Narcotics and Street Interdiction Units.
The police obtained three search and seizure warrants and proceeded to arrest six people for allegedly intending to sell marijuana and crack, possessing drug paraphernalia (a scale with cocaine and drug-packaging material), and sale of narcotics. Lt. Jeff Hoffman announced the arrests Saturday.
The two people arrested in the apartment with the 3‑year-old (one of them the child’s mother) were also charged with risk of injury to a minor.
