Peabody-ers Pitched On Lead Poisoning

The following was submitted by Paul Kowalski, director of the city’s Environmental Health Program:

In honor of the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Environmental Health staff once again participated with a host of others to assist children by presenting lead poisoning prevention awareness activities within Yale’s Peabody Museum and Wexler/Grant Community School.

Over 1,000 people, of which approximately 500 were children, attended events over the two days at Peabody Museum while over 100 children were in attendance at Wexler/Grant.

The Bureau has participated within this event for the past 20 years, thereby reaching a very distinct and large population of children, as Yale University opens the doors of its Museum of Natural History.
