Teens from New Haven’s new Public Safety Academy traveled to New York City, and learned how to cut open a crushed car.
The academy, in its inaugural year, is designed to get high school freshman focused on careers as cops, firefighters, and paramedics.
On Nov. 11, the group traveled to New York City and visited Ground Zero.
On Nov. 21, the group took in a live burn and extradition demonstration at the firefighter training center on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard.
