When they heard about the national soul-searching provoked by the arrests of six high-school students in Louisiana, Bianka O’Bryan and Greg Lewis wondered what fellow students and teachers were thinking here in New Haven.
So O’Bryan and Lewis asked them. The two high-schoolers take part in Youth Rights Media, a local- not-for-profit that teaches urban teens video and reporting skills. They’re one of two two-person teams taking part in “Reel News,” a joint project between Youth Rights and the Independent. The teams plan to prepare regular video news reports to be published here.
