One lucky class of fourth graders won pizza and prizes while learning how to be safe pedestrians.

Edgewood Magnet School participated in International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, 10/7/2009. The City of New Haven’s Street Smarts campaign provided a Pizza (donated by Pepe’s Pizza on Wooster Street) and Prizes (a Street Smarts water bottle and jelly bracelet) party as a raffle prize for a class that participating in taking steps using their new Street Smarts pedometer. Grade 4, Room 10, won the raffle. One of the students, Kobe, said “this was the best day of his life”. During lunch, the kids were quizzed on the tips that were provided on how to be a Smart Walker. Everyone passed with flying colors.
