Snow blankets the Blvd.
The public schools are closed for the day, there’s no parking ban in effect, and nearly two dozen snow plows are out at work trying to keep the streets clean as a small snowfall turns to sleet.
Mayor Justin Elicker provided those updates at around 10 a.m.
He said that, by that time, the city had received around two inches of snow. “Now it’s changing to sleet and rain, which is a little tricky to clean up.”
He said there is no parking ban in effect, and noted that New Haven Public Schools (NHPS) is closed for the day.
He also said that public works has a total of 23 plow trucks out: six that started at 5 a.m., 17 at 7 a.m.
