Police arrested a 17-year-old on an illegal gun charge during a vigil for a teen who was shot dead this week.
The vigil took place Tuesday afternoon on South Genessee Street. The vigil was for Anthony Strother, 18, who was shot dead on South Genesee Monday night.
At the vigil, an argument broke out, and the 17-year-old allegedly brandished a gun. A spectator informed officers and pointed out the 17-year-old. A foot chase ensued. Officers caught up with the 17-year-old and recovered a gun he had tossed during the chase, police said.
