Cops recovered a stolen car — and arrested the three teens they say stole it.
That happened Tuesday in Hamden.
Here are the details, according to Hamden police spokesperson Capt. Ronald Smith:
A driver left the keys in the ignition of his vehicle while he went inside Church Street School.
“Witnesses observed three young males enter the vehicle and flee towards Chester Street,” Smith wrote in a release.
“Moments later, Sergeant Michael Nawrocki observed the stolen vehicle, which was disabled, in the area of Benham Street and Mix Avenue. He observed three males exit and run towards Vantage Road. Shortly thereafter, Officer Angela Vey and Officer Brian Jackson arrested three juveniles, who were hiding in the backyard of Vantage Road residents.”
Police charged the trio of Hamden teens — two of them 15 years old, one 16 — with first-degree larceny and interfering with a police officer.
