Schools Official Placed On Paid Leave

New Haven Public Schools (NHPS) Chief Operating Officer Thomas Lamb has been placed on paid administrative leave.

NHPS spokesperson Justin Harmon confirmed that a senior administrator” in the city’s school district was placed on paid leave as of Wednesday pending the results of an inquiry conducted by a third-party investigator.”

Harmon did not identify Lamb by name or by title, stating that the district could not legally disclose the identity of the employee or the reason for his being put on leave.

This action, which is taken without prejudice, is standard procedure during such an investigation,” Harmon added. We ask the community for patience as the investigation continues. We must respect the process and also the reputation of the individual.”

This reporter independently confirmed with three different people who have high-ranking positions in different areas of the public school district that Lamb is the one who has been put on leave.

Lamb did not respond to a request for comment by the publication time of this article.

We will share further information only if an allegation has been substantiated,” Harmon told the Independent.
