Troopers Arrest 4 In Pro-Palestine I‑95 Shutdown

State police issued misdemeanor summons to four people on Sunday, after a fleet of cars participating in a pro-Palestine car demonstration moved from Long Wharf Drive to I‑95.

Those cars gathered at the Ikea parking lot at 450 Long Wharf Dr., and according to a Monday news release on the state police media website CSP News, state troopers from Bridgeport’s Troop G reported monitoring the gathering at 3:34 p.m.

Police describe that demonstration as moving from Long Wharf Drive to I‑95, entering southbound via exit 46. It was at this time that the group was observed to be impeding traffic,” the news release states, bringing their vehicles to a complete stop across all lanes and exiting onto the highway on foot.”

Social media footage shows vehicles stopped on the on-ramp, some with Palestinian flags, and some people standing on foot, before continuing onto the interstate.

The post continues by stating that while troopers were responding, the group continued south on I‑95 at a slow rate of speed across the lanes.” Police say the takeover took place between New Haven and Milford.

Troopers then stopped multiple vehicles” and identified four leaders of the demonstration, who were then issued a misdemeanor summons for Knowingly Inciting a Street Race/Takeover.
