UMass Lowell Hosting Destination Nano” Conference

(NHI Nanoblog) The University of Massachusetts at Lowell is hosting a nanomanufacturing conference Wednesday and Thursday, bringing together researchers and representatives of the government and business sector.

The conference, cosponsored by the university and the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s John Adams Innovation Institute, offers a forum for UMass Lowell’s nano researchers as well as regulators and entrepreneurs. Among the outside speakers on the schedule are Chuck Geraci, a top official in nanotechnology at the National Institiute for Occupational Safety and Health, and Peter Antoinette of Nanocomp Technologies, a nano-based business that works largely with carbon nanotubes.

UMass Lowell Chancellor Martin Meehan, a former member of Congress, is also scheduled to announce a new partnership with NIOSH dealing with nanotechnology safety, according to the university press release.
