Aaron Goode has a message for voters: get out and turn up for the primary election this Wednesday, even if you’re 17. That is, if you’ll be 18 by the general election in November.
“That’s how I define civic engagement,” he shared, “Being an active citizen. The election is like Christmas for me … I’m a political junkie.”
As a guest on WNHH radio’s “The Tom Ficklin Show” this week, Goode urged voters to participate at the polls on Wednesday, sharing voting laws little-known to several New Haveners. That’s important for them to know, he said, since only 25 percent of the city’s population currently comes out for municipal elections. That’s not satisfactory for him, and it shouldn’t be satisfactory for the city either.
A self-proclaimed “safe streets advocate,” Goode also shared information about the upcoming New Haven Grand Prix, marrying political engagement and bike advocacy in his personal and professional quest to truly make New Haven the Greatest Small City in America.
