On 6/2, police responded to the Three Judges Motel to investigate a theft. A male guest wearing only a towel said that his pants and wallet had been stolen sometime overnight. An unknown black female knocked on his door and asked to use the bathroom. He let her into the room, and she was followed in by two unknown black males who then stole his items. The guest admitted to being under the influence when the theft occurred and was mostly concerned because he had no clothes to wear or money for his trip home.

The Tennis Center on Yale Avenue was vandalized again on 6/2. Paperwork and tennis balls were thrown around the offices, three fire extinguishers were tossed into the parking lot, a computer was damaged, and a sketch of male genitalia was spray painted on the wall. All the doors to the building had been locked, and there were no signs of forced entry.

Sometime between 6/4 – 6/5 a garage was burglarized on West Rock Avenue. Both the side door to the garage and the vehicle inside were unlocked. A weedwhacker was stolen from a tool chest, and a black leather Coach bag and a laptop were stolen from the vehicle. Detectives responded to the scene to look for clues.

Police responded to two theft complaints at Whalley Avenue businesses this week. Sometime between 6/1/-6/2, clothing, towels, bedsheets and undergarments were stolen from three dryer units at Top Kat Super Laundromat. On 6/5, two bottles of Mineral Sun Bronzer” worth a total of $96 were stolen from the inventory room of Tommy’s Tanning. Police are following up on a possible suspect that was seen on surveillance exiting a tanning room around the time of the theft.

On 6/4, at around 10 pm, Sergeant Fumiatti was on patrol in the 1200 block of Whalley Avenue when he saw a Volkswagen Passat traveling at a high rate of speed with no rear tail lights lit. He conducted a motor vehicle stop. The driver was visibly shaking, stuttering and was reaching under his seat. The Sergeant searched the vehicle and found a loaded 380 Beretta handgun under the driver’s seat. The driver, a convicted felon, was arrested for criminal possession of a firearm.
