Witnesses Sought In Wrong-Way I‑95 Crash

Did you happen to see a crash on the northbound left-center lane of I‑95, just before Exit 50, Thursday around 2 a.m.?

If so — or if you know anything about it — State Trooper Rahiem J. Farrow would like you to call him at 203 – 696-2500 to help with his investigation into the incident.

A 59-year-old Dorchester, Mass., man was driving a 2005 Kenworth truck in the left-center of four northbound lanes when he collided head-on with a 2013 Honda, according to Farrow’s written incident report. A 20-year-old Terryville woman was driving the Honda the wrong way — heading south.

The Dorchester man had his shoulder and lap belt fastened. The airbag deployed, and he did not suffer any apparent injury.

The Terryville woman had only a shoulder belt on; it is unkown if her passenger, a 19-year-old Fair Haven woman, had a belt on. Though their airbag deployed, too, they were injured and transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening — suspected serious” for the driver, suspected minor” for the passenger.

Their vehicles were towed. The crash is Under investigation with charges pending,” Farrow reported.
