Substituting dolls for babies, Yale-New Haven Hospital pediatric residents showed Jepson Magnet School students how they care for newborns in the hospital.
Dr. Connie Tran and Dr. Charlayne McStay visited the kindergarten classroom this past Thursday to discuss the kind of care given to newborn babies in a hospital setting. The students created a mock emergency room and newborn nursery to prepare for the visit.
The doctors answered questions about infant care and helped the students administer physical exams with dolls and YNHH-donated medical equipment.
