(Updated) Any Connecticut resident who is 65 or older can now schedule an appointment to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced on Monday that the state has asked participating healthcare providers to start scheduling vaccination appointments for residents between 65 and 74 as early as Thursday. The state remains in Phase 1b of the governor’s vaccination rollout plan.
Update: On Tuesday afternoon, Mayor Justin Elicker announced by email that the city Health Department and Yale New Haven Health are now taking appointment for residents aged 65 and up. To schedule an appointment with the city, call (203) 639‑2245 or register here or call 1 – 877-918‑2224. To schedule an appointment with YNHH, register here.
Residents who are over 75 and Phase 1a-eligible healthcare workers and emergency first responders who have not yet been vaccinated can still sign up to get shots, as well.
In separate Monday afternoon emails sent out to their constituents, Downtown Alder Abby Roth and Prospect Hill/Newhallville Alder Steve Winter included a list of different ways for eligible Connecticut residents — including those 65 and older — to sign up to get a shot. Below is an amended version of that list as laid out by those two alders.
Please note that eligible residents have to make an appointment in advance before getting vaccinated at a participating hospital or clinic. And, if you go to a hospital or clinic scheduling website and no appointments are available, go back to that site later to see if new appointments have opened up. Participating providers are opening up appointments based on available supply of vaccine.
